The Dark Shift
Time has shifted. I drove home in the dark tonight, listening to Ulver's "Shadows of the Sun" and thinking of this old post. I love this time of the year.
The short days are depressing for a lot of people--and it gets to me occasionally, too--but for me it's always been something special to see that first day when the sky is black by 5 o'clock.
Here's to the longest nights.

I like the early part of fall but once it starts getting dark by 5, .....depressing. Awesome photo BTW.
