Put another way, “Holy fucking shit! At the subatomic level there’s hardly anything to matter at all!”
Check out this scale model of a hydrogen atom showing the proton as a 10,000 pixel-wide blue sphere and the electron as a single pixel waaaaaaaaaay the hell off to the right. How far? On a monitor displaying 72 pixels per inch it works out to about 11 miles.

Don’t get too excited – it is not actually true. You only get that impression if you treat the electron as a particle. If you treat it as a wave, it fills in the space.You can get quantum physics to say anything you want if you only explain half of it

Wow! That’s crazy. I was just minding my own business, trying to read a few blogs and all of a sudden I’ve got all these browser windows about waves and particles all over the place and I’m getting an education in physics. I don’t know if I should say thank you or dammit!
